Michele Dawn Stickle, 43, of Hobart, passed away suddenly on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020 following a brief illness.

Born Jan. 9, 1977 in Walton. She was a daughter of Arden and Betsy (Barnes) Stickle of Downsville. Michele attended Downsville Central School and graduated in 1995. In 2000, she attended SUNY Geneseo to obtain her bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education. In 2003, she acquired her master’s degree in literacy from the University of New England. In 2004, she married her childhood sweetheart, Lynn Reed in the town of Andes. On Sept. 26, they were blessed with the birth of their son, Daemon Michael Reed. He brought such joy to their life. Michele was passionate about learning. She worked as a special education teacher at Downsville Central School. She loved the children and teaching them. She could name every student that she had ever worked with in her 20 years of instructing. Her interest in educating students began when she first taught swimming lessons at the town of Colchester pool when she was in high school. Michele was compassionate and loved to laugh. Her infectious smile lit up a room as soon as she walked in. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends for holidays and special events. She was always the one in charge of “planning the party” which sparked so much joy.

Survivors include her husband, Lynn Reed; her parents, Arden and Betsy Stickle; her son, Daemon M. Reed; her sisters, Christina (Timothy Joedicke) Stickle and Heather (Andy) Fagen; her parents-in-law, Steve and Sylvia Reed; her siblings-in-law, Scott (Jody) Reed, Dave (Kim) Reed, Fran (Joanna) Reed, Lisa (Todd) Henderson, Lyman (Tammy) Reed and Loraine Reed; and her nieces and nephews Brett, Rebecca, Cody, Kristine, Justin, Ashley, Cory, Tristan, Klair, Katelyn, Connor, Lucas and Maverick.
