DELHI JOINT FIRE DISTRICT INVITATION FOR BIDS The Delhi Joint Fire District is soliciting formal proposals from independent or certified public accountants to audit financial statements for fiscal years ending December 31, 2024 through December 31, 2027. TOWN OF HAMDEN NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING LOCAL LAW TO OVERRIDE THE TAX CAP LEVY ESTABLISHED IN GENERAL MUNICIPAL LAW �3-c    On a motion by Councilman Endress and seconded by Councilman Kilmer, the following resolution was adopted     WHEREAS, on June 24, 2011 the New York Legislature enacted Chapter 8 of the NYS Laws of 2011 hereafter referred to as the General Municipal Law �3-c; and   WHEREAS, General Municipal Law �3-c expressly authorizes local governments to override the tax levy limit by the adoption of a local law approved by a vote of at least sixty percent (60%) of total voting power of the governing body (in this case, the Hamden Town Board); and  WHEREAS, the Town’s Attorney has prepared a proposed local law to Override the Tax Levy Limit established in General Law �3-c; and  WHEREAS, the Town Board has reviewed and modified the proposed Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit established in General Law �3- c; and  NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the proposed law is ready for consideration by the Town Board; and  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Board shall hold a public hearing for consideration of the Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit established in General Municipal Law �3-c on October 4, 2023 at 6 30 pm at the Hamden Town Hall; and  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish notice of said hearing in The Reporter and to pose copies of such notice in the manner provided by law.  Dennise Yeary Hamden Town Clerk September 5, 2024
