June Bonvie Kilpatrick, 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Unadilla on Oct. 10, 2021. She was born in Yonkers to the late Francis Robert Bonvie and Marion Johnstone Blyth Craig. She graduated from New Milford High School in New Jersey, and attended SUNY Delhi for restaurant management. June moved to Downsville in 1975 where she raised her family.

June spent much of her career in the food service industry. This included Ma Bell, Steaks and Things, Bear Spring Inn, Roundup Ranch Resort, Silver Fox Restaurant, Downsville Central School, and The Old Schoolhouse Inn & Restaurant. She was also employed by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County as a nutritional teaching assistant, and was a volunteer for Helios Care and Office for the Aging in her retirement. In 2017 she was awarded Hospice Volunteer of the Year.

Over the years, some of June’s hobbies included cross stitch, playing her Gibson guitar, archery, gardening, and stained glass. She thrived on entertaining her family and friends with delicious, home-cooked feasts.

June’s memory will live on through her children Ryan (Amy) Kilpatrick of Vestal, Russell (Katharine) Kilpatrick of Wenham, Mass., and Deborah Kilpatrick of Oneonta; beloved grandchildren Joshua, Grayson, and Adrianna Kilpatrick, Henry and Helen Kilpatrick, and Tucker, Willow, and Hazel Kilpatrick Landry; siblings Carolyn Haines and Robert Bonvie; nieces, nephews, close extended family, and friends.

June was able to live her final days comfortably at home with the assistance of several wonderful aides and Helios Care. At her request, June’s body was donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at Albany Medical Center with the hope of helping others with pulmonary fibrosis. Contributions can be made in June’s memory to Helios Care, 297 River St Service Rd, Oneonta, NY 13820.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate June’s life on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Old Schoolhouse Inn & Restaurant, Downsville.
