Joyce G. Yevich, 93, formerly of Downsville, passed away peacefully at Maria Manor Nursing Care Center in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Saturday, April 18, 2020.
Born Nov. 4, 1926 in Walton, she was the third of four daughters of the late Homer A. and Edna McDougal Gladstone.
Joyce was a long time member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Downsville, where she served as a Trustee for many years. She was a longtime postal clerk at the Downsville Post Office, where she always greeted people with a kind word and warm smile. Joyce was also a member of the James S. Moore American Legion Post 167 Women’s Auxiliary in Downsville.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 72 years, Robert J. Yevich, whom she married June 20, 1947; daughter Patricia Mushrush and husband Michael of Sarasota, Fla.; son John Yevich and wife Cindy of Pinellas Park, Fla.; and son Andrew Yevich and wife Julie of Riverview, Fla. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
Joyce is preceded in death by daughter Kathie Acocelli, sisters Mary Kay Gott, Emily Reed and Lorna DuMond, and great-granddaughter Lainey Joy Yevich.
Joyce will be laid to rest at Paige Cemetery in Downsville at a day and time to be announced.
