Joseph M. Pangione, 65, of Walton, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 after a short but horrible battle with COVID.

Joe was born on May 27, 1955 in Englewood, N.J. to Michael and Damaras Pangione.

He was raised in Fairview, N.J. and met the love of his life, JoAnn Callahan, on March 13, 1976. Joe and JoAnn were married on Dec. 18, 1976.

Joe worked for many years in the trucking industry and was a Teamster 560 member. He owned and operated Fairview Landscaping in New Jersey. In 1986 Joe and JoAnn moved to Walton and began raising beef cows and other livestock. In 1990, Joe started working at Walton Central Schools until his retirement in 2013. He was an avid outdoors and sportsman and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his grandson, niece and nephew. He was also a faithful New York Yankees and Giants fan. 

Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years JoAnn Pangione of Walton; daughters Jill (Steve Youngs) of Heuvelton, and Jenna (Chris Munyon) of Walton; grandson Nicholas; sisters Edna Kotowski of Tampa, Fla., Mickey Ward of Cherry Valley, and Ruth Kilmurray of South Mills, N.C.; brother-in-law Michael Callahan (Donna) of New Jersey; favorite sister-in-law Patricia Garcia (Sillo) and their children Sillo and Avery, and special cousins William and Ginger Bickhardt. Joe is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services. The family asks for privacy at this time. In memory of Joe, the Pangione family asks everyone to please wear a mask, get vaccinated and stay safe until this horrible pandemic is over.
