Jerome P. Hill

Jerome P. Hill of Roscoe, a longtime area resident, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022 at his home. He was 95.

The son of the late Eric T. and Mildred Elkeman Hill, he was born March 25, 1926 in Forest City, Iowa.

Jerome proudly served Our Country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired project manager for S.J. Groves Construction Co. He was a former member of the Roscoe Kiwanis Club; a former member of the Liberty Elks Lodge #1545; a former member of the MOLES and the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing.

Survivors include two sons, E. Scott Hill and his wife Deb of Manteo, N.C. and Mike Hill and his wife Amy of Roscoe; one daughter, Karen Darbee and her husband Tom of Roscoe; five grandchildren: Shannon Penfold (Mike), Seth Darbee, Kelly (Jason) Callnan, Nickolas Hill and Erick Hill; four great-grandchildren, Aiden and Emma Penfold, Liana Darbee and Asher Callnan; two sisters, Carol Spencer of Florida and Margaret Failor (Gene) of Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Patricia Hill and sisters Virginia LaGrange and Audrey Barker.

Graveside services and burial with military honors will be Saturday, June 25, at 1 p.m. in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe.
