Jeremy Shaw of Hamden, a stonecutter and a lifelong area resident, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at his home. He was 45. 

The son of Leonard and Susan Brock Shaw, he was born March 18, 1976 in Walton.

Jeremy was a graduate of Downsville Central School and had coached the basketball team there. He attended SUNY Oneonta for a brief time. He enjoyed speedway racing and was involved in the IMCA and modified sportsman races; but most of all he loved spending time with his beloved daughter, Kayleigh; they did many things together including his favorite hobby, golfing.

Survivors include his parents, Leonard and Susan Shaw of Hamden; his daughter, Kayleigh of Hamden; his aunts and uncles, Milton Brock and his wife Tina of Walton, Martin Brock and his wife Jerilynn of Roscoe, Frank Brock and his wife Wilma of South Carolina, Dorothy Brock of Jeffersonville, Marie Fuller of Downsville, Cheryl Shaw and her husband Lester of Milford, and Dawn Cortright and her husband Mark, and many cousins and friends. 

He was predeceased by his brother Paul Shaw in 2002.

Visitation was Friday, March 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe.

Funeral services were Saturday, March 5, at Colchester Community Church, Main Street, Downsville. Rev. Christine Lindeberg officiated.

Burial will be in the Paige Cemetery, Downsville, in the spring.
