James D. Fitch, 43, of Deer Lake in Windsor, formerly of Delhi, passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 1, 2020, at his home following a battle with cancer.
Born on March 14, 1977 in Walton, the son of the Bryan and Nora Fitch, James grew up in Delhi and was a 1998 graduate of Delaware Academy. He was a member of the Cub Scouts and a member of the Delhi Fire Department Explorers post and later became a member of the Fire Department. In his youth James was an acolyte at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Delhi. James moved to Broome County about 20 years ago and moved to his residence on Deer Lake in Windsor about five years ago.
He is survived by his parents: Bryan and Nora Fitch of Delhi; siblings Bryan (Kristy) Fitch Jr., Jill (Jason) Coleman, Sandra Fitch, Jeremy Fitch and Valerie (Bryan Drayton) Fitch; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with his extended family in Broome County.
Private services will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Delhi. A memorial will be announced at a later date.
