Jack Voorhies

Jack Alvin Voorhies, 81, of Derry, N.H., passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020, in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, just four short days after his wife Gale. He was born in Hancock on Dec. 3, 1938, a son of William and Teresa (Neer) Voorhies.

He is survived by two daughters, Ann T. (Voorhies) Driscoll of Derry, and Kim E. (Voorhies) Alger and her husband Donnie, of Mt. Vision, grandsons David Driscoll and his wife Brittany of Evansville, Ind., and Patrick Driscoll of Derry; his brother, Chris Voorhies and his wife Jennifer of Walton; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Gale (Maloney) Voorhies on April 25, and his sister Linda Houston, formerly of Macon, Ga.

Jack was a kind, gentle man. He fulfilled his and Gale’s dream of retiring to their cabin in the mountains in Big Elk Meadows, Lyons, Colo. Jack loved to fish, walk in the woods and in recent years, hang out with his beloved cat Buddy and Yorkie Kassie.

Following cremation, memorial services will be held by the family at a time in the future when it is safe to gather again.
