Gordon Tyler Sr., 75, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 in St. Augustine, Fla. following a short illness.

Gordon was born April 17, 1945 to Bob and Florence Tyler who raised him and his two brothers, Dick and Lester, on their dairy farm, Sunny Vale, in Terry Clove, Delancey. Graduating from Downsville Central School and attending Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Fla., he excelled in the visual arts. His intense love for all animals became the primary subject of his artwork through wood carvings, sculpture, and Celtic symbols and all things Scottish in watercolors. His biggest hobby was working on the family’s genealogy, attending Scottish festivals and the Delaware County Fair. Gordon’s love for his farm animals led him to raising and breeding prizewinning dairy goats. He was a past president of the New York State Dairy Goat Association.

He is survived by his sons, Gordon Jr. of Delancey and Christopher of Oregon, grandsons Jeffrey and Steven, brothers Richard of Deposit and Lester of Milford.

A service to honor Gordon’s life will be announced at a future date.
