Gerald Peter “Jerry” Eskow, 73, of Hamden passed away in the arms of his loving wife on July 19, 2020, after a short battle with cancer.

Jerry was born May 18, 1947 in Brooklyn, to Peter and Winifred Miller Eskow.

When he was eight, the family moved to Readburn to enjoy the peace of country life. He graduated from Hancock Central School where he excelled in both football and basketball. In 1967, Jerry enlisted in the United States Air Force. He proudly served until 1971, attaining the rank of sergeant. He was crew chief on jet aircraft mechanics. He proceeded to work as a logger in the Hancock area and was also a bulldozer operator for different companies for many years. Upon retirement, he was owner/operator of J & L Trucking and operated his own log truck. Jerry loved being outside and all phases of excavating. He took great pride in his work and it especially shows in the landscaping at his homes in Hamden and South Carolina, having done all the work himself.

On March 22, 1980, he married the love of his life, Linda Lincourt. He will be greatly missed by her and his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; Linda Eskow; brothers, James Eskow (Ann) of Delaware, Joseph Eskow (Dale) of Bainbridge; sister-in-law Viola Eskow of Deposit; mother-in-law Stella Lincourt of New Hampshire; his wife’s brother Richard Lincourt (Elaine) of New Hampshire; Linda’s sister Elizabeth Davis (Brian) of Laurens; Linda’s aunt and uncle William Ubner (Karen) of Fly Creek; his two fur babies Cassie and Gidget and several cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his brother John, his father-in-law Harold Lincourt and several aunts and uncles.
