Frances “Faye” Neice, 88, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 at the Roscoe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Roscoe.

Born on Oct. 4, 1932 in Beerston, she was a daughter to the late John and Frances (Tuttle) Campbell.

Faye was a graduate of Walton High School, class of 1950. On May 1, 1952 she married LeRoy W. Neice in the parsonage of the Walton Reformed Presbyterian Church. The two were married for 53 years before his passing in 2005. Faye worked as a dedicated operator at the Walton Telephone Company for 10 years. In 1967 she and Roy bought the Friendly Tavern in Trout Creek and this is where they found their true calling. They learned Faye could cook a mean ribeye and Roy could pour a strong drink. Years later, in the early 70s, they took ownership of the Imperial Lounge in Walton. Faye and Roy provided countless holiday dinners, played hosts to many special occasions, but most importantly they established lasting friendships, created fond memories and a successful business, together. Adding to the restaurant, in 1981 the Crown Motel was built to provide lodging for hunters, thriving Walton businesses, as well as out of town guests. Faye’s greatest joys were family, cooking, casino trips and dancing. When Faye and Roy hit the dance floor you knew you were in for a real treat.

Survivors include her sons Chris (Kathleen) Neice and Clark (Dixie) Neice; sisters Jean MacGibbon and Jane Benna; grandchildren Lisa (Brian) Cole, Andrea Kyger, Sally (Vincent) Pritchard, Tina (Trevor) Ammon, and Benji Neice;

great-grandchildren Ariel, Bianca, and Kadin Cole, Tylor Davis, Evelynn and Christopher Pritchard and Keelan Ammon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her sisters June Pixley, Camilla Peluso and brother Donald “Buck” Campbell.

Per Faye’s request, there will be no services. A graveside service will be held privately in the Spring at the Walton Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Faye’s memory may be made to Walton Fire and EMS squad; 59 West Street, Walton, NY 13856 or Walton Cemetery Association, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton, NY 13856.
