Florence “Jane” Reynolds, 80, of Trout Creek passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Jane was born on May 24, 1942 in Orange County, the daughter of the late John and Ella Tompkins Winfield. On Dec. 17, 1960, she married Walter D. “Pete” Reynolds in Walton. He predeceased her on Dec. 1, 2013.

Family was everything to her and the joy of her life. Jane enjoyed caring for her yard and flower gardens. She loved watching the wildlife that frequented her meadow and bird feeders, especially the foxes, Baltimore Orioles and hummingbirds. Jane’s potato salad and jelly-filled sugar cookies were unmatched. Traditions like baking Christmas cookies, canning peaches, tomatoes and applesauce with grandchildren, entertaining a full house at Thanksgiving, baking pumpkin rolls with the ladies of the family, and any time spent with the entire family gathered in a circle of lawn chairs in the driveway, were when she would say her heart was the fullest. She always had words of wisdom to share and as we found out many times, she was always right.

Jane is survived by her loving family, daughters, Karen Gehl of Trout Creek, Kathy (Mike) Preston of Trout Creek and Kelly (Duane) Rosa of West Virginia; grandchildren Kacie (Justin) Clark, Kathleen (Brian) Gehl, Daniel (Victoria) Gehl, Ashley (Tanner) Dolph, Nathan (Nicole) Sramek and Abigail Rosa;

great-grandchildren Emerson, Ella, Easton, Rowan, Reilly, Bodie and Parker Jane; sister Janice Miller of Delhi, several special friends and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Laauser.

Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Courtney Funeral Home, Walton. Memorial contributions in Jane’s memory may be made to Delaware Valley Humane Society, 101 E. Main Street, Sidney, NY 13838. Condolences to the family may be made online at www.courtneyfh.com.
