Erich Edward Goodnough, 57, of Easton, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on July 17, 2021. Born on Sept. 3, 1963, in Delhi to Eleanor (Holley) and Edward Goodnough, he attended Delaware Academy where his friends fondly nicknamed and called him “Goody.” Goody enthusiastically played on the DA football, baseball, and wrestling teams, graduating in 1982.

He attended SUNY Brockport in Brockport graduating with a degree in sports management and worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Northampton County Assistance Office in Easton, Pa., where he was highly respected by his colleagues.

He married his beloved Jacqueline (Davidson) Goodnough on July 10, 2009, and spent much time enjoying life in the Easton area where they made numerous friends. They loved going on weekend adventures, antiquing, searching for unique shops with hidden treasures and bookshops along with music festivals, ball games, and local breweries.

Erich enjoyed fine cigars and craft beers almost as much as he enjoyed sports. His favorite team was the New York Yankees, however he knew every team, their history and stats, which he eagerly shared. He especially found personal pleasure in volunteering and helping the local Best Scholar Program and Warriors Booster Club. Erich was always compassionate and giving with his final act being one of an organ donor to Gift of Life.

Erich never met a stranger, once he knew you, you were his friend. He never lost contact with his school buddies/best friends John O’Connell, Damon Stewart, and Bill Homa.

Erich gave his greatest love to his family and is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Goodnough, siblings: sister, Laura Jones, brothers, Ronald and Bradley Goodnough, aunt, Jean Sommerville, several cherished nieces and nephews that he adored, along with grandnephews and grandnieces.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced.
