Emily Diane Vollkommer - “DeeDee” - 69, a longtime resident of Walton, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020. Born Sept. 11, 1951, in Walton, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen Williams. DeeDee always cherished her time with her grandkids and was considered a Grandmother to many children in Walton, always being referred to as “Gramma DeeDee.” DeeDee loved sewing and crocheting, especially for her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and always made sure everyone was fed. DeeDee was likely to be seen cruising around town on her scooter. She had a passion for music, especially Elvis Presley.

Survivors include her daughters Keri Vollkommer and Amy Shelton (Jeffrey); brother Tracy Williams (Ronda); sister Doreen Williams (Chris Grace); grandchildren Brianne Tallman (Cedric), Lindsey Lewis, Justin Lewis, Brooke Adam (Travis), Alexis Marlett, Gabriella Shelton, Jeffrey Shelton Jr.; great-grandchildren Bella Carpinone, Camryn Giegher, Jayda Giegher, Bryley Singleton, Parker Cash, Tinsley Endress, and Travis Terry Jr. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including two special nephews, Travis (Kristine) and Jason Butler (Cheryl).

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Williams, who proudly served our country in the United States Army and Vietnam War.

Calling hours were held Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton. A service to celebrate DeeDee’s life will be held privately.
