Dorothy E. Osborn, 94 of Burlington Flats, passed away Friday August 7, 2020 in Cooperstown.
Dorothy was born on Oct. 6, 1925, in Downsville, the daughter of the late Edward Burton and Ethel (Rutan) Cornell. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband William Lester York, a son Burton York, and great-grandchild Richard Fairbairn.
She is survived by her husband David Osborn of Burlington Flats, stepchildren Daniel (Nancy) Osborn of Morris, Sandra Boutcher of Rhode Island, and Connie Kaye of Burlington Flats. Also surviving are grandchildren Tina Mosier, Bethany Fairbairn, Joshua Osborn, Ashley Battista, Paul Battista, Cameron Kaye, Sidney Kaye, and great-grandchildren Emily Fairbairn, Katie Fairbairn, Taron Kaye, Gianna Battista, and Cora Battista.
Dorothy was born and raised in the Andes area of Delaware County, where her parents were in the restaurant business. She graduated from Andes Schools in 1943, and married William Lester York. She worked many years with the Salvation Army, and as a homemaker. On May 11, 2006, she married David Osborn in the gazebo in Burlington Flats. She was a member of the Burlington Flats Baptist Church, and read her Bible daily.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.
