Daniel John Poulin, “The Legend,” 63, of Walton passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at his home following a brief illness. 

Born Feb. 19, 1958, in Walton, he was a son of John and Leona Schlafer Poulin. 

Dan has worked at Amphenol in Sidney for over 40 years as a machinist. He was an avid outdoorsman and was nicknamed “Daniel Boone” by his family and friends for his knowledge and expertise of the outdoors. Dan enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, camping, and kayaking on the Delaware. When he wasn’t enjoying the outdoors, Dan loved spending time with his grandchildren. Dan lived life to the fullest and was very well respected in his community. He will always be watching over all his beloved family and friends.  

Survivors include his beloved wife of 34 years Nanette Poulin; parents John and Leona Poulin; children Jessica Poulin (Joe), Summer Offnick (John), Heather Dailey (Geoff) and Eric Persson (Sarah); His golden child, DJ; brother Scott Poulin (Jeanne); sisters Terri Youngs and Elaine “Booger” Poulin (Tim) and grandchildren Caleb Moren, Kaden Poulin-Shuman, Allison Offnick (Cody), Jarrett Offnick, Jaxon Dailey, Michael Dailey, Amber Persson and Aidan Persson. His bonus grandchildren: Michael, Christian, Blaze, and Mason. Dan is also survived by several nieces, cousins, and many close friends.  

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.  

Memorial donation in Dan’s memory may be made to the Walton Fire Department and Emergency Squad, 61 West Street, Walton, NY 13856.
