Daniel Mark Emerich, 53, went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 8 a.m. at Moffit Hospital in Tampa, Fla. He had been battling chronic myelomonocytic leukemia.

Dan was born in Walton on Dec. 14, 1964. He was the son of the late Craig Kenneth Emerich and Charlotte Emerich. He was employed through the Laborers Local Union 754.

Dan was a longtime member of the NRA, and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Oakland/ LA Raiders. He enjoyed hunting and sightseeing but most of all traveling. He had been on more than 20 cruises. He was adventurous, which was evident when he hiked and camped in the Grand Canyon for days. Dan loved the ocean, whether is was swimming in it, scuba diving in the Caribbean or just relaxing on the beach.

Dan lived in East Branch but owned a place in Florida, where he went for three months each winter.

Dan was predeceased by his father, Craig Emerich.

He is survived by his mother, Charlotte (Sprague) Emerich; two brothers, Craig Jr. and his wife Lisa; Kyle and wife Sue Viviano; and a sister, Erica Mills and husband Richard. Also surviving are four nieces, Heather Bertholf and husband Marvin; Sam Brunner and husband Jeremy, Charity Graham and husband Jon; and Sabrina Mills; three nephews, Lucas Emerich and wife Nichole, Kyle Emerich and wife Lindsey; and Jeff Emerich. Dan is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nephews and greatnieces. He will be missed by all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on April 14 at the East Branch United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Daniel’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
