COVID-19 Cases Continue To Climb Locally

Almost 30 Ordered to Quarantine

DELHI -- Delaware County's total of positive coronavirus cases inched up by another three cases Wednesday, with a significant rise in the number of people ordered to quarantine. 

According to the county department of public health, the new total of positive cases stands at 58. Six people are hospitalized, three have died, seventeen have recovered. Seven cases reported to them, they say, were for people who later proved to be outside the county.

As of Wednesday, 71 county residents are in mandatory quarantine, 28 more than the day before. A total of 34 people are waiting for test results.

Otsego County reported one new case on Wednesday, bringing their total of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 47. Five people are hospitalized, 21 have recovered, and three people have died. Mandatory quarantine has been ordered for 31 people.

In Broome County, Executive Jason Garnar said Wednesday there are 120 confirmed cases of the virus there. A total of 159 people have tested positive, 31 have recovered, and eight people have died.

According to the state Department of Health map tracking the infection, there are 71 confirmed cases in Chenango County, 424 cases in Sullivan, and 733 in Ulster County.
