SUNY New Paltz announces its dean’s list for the spring 2024 semester, a recognition for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade-point average in a semester with a full-time course load including Katherine Edelson of Andes; Akasha Finkle of South Kortright; Michaela Lynch of Stamford, and Elizabeth Richards of Walton.

Rachel Blocker of Delhi has received the degree of bachelor of science from the University of Hartford’s College of Arts and Sciences, one of 964 students who received graduate and undergraduate degrees as part of the class of 2024.

Netalia Herrera of Arkville was named to the spring 2024 dean’s list at Buffalo State University.

More than 2,400 SUNY Cortland students were recognized for academic excellence on the university’s dean’s list for the spring 2024 semester, the highest ranking for undergraduate students in their respective academic areas of the university. Students must earn a minimum 3.3 grade point average for the semester to make the list. Each of SUNY Cortland’s three schools publishes its own dean’s list. They are the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Professional Studies and the School of Education. Among those honored are: Alina Chojnowski of Roxbury - major: community health; Danika Harvey of Sidney Center - major: exercise science; and Bailee Herrel of Arkville - major: psychology.

The University of Rhode Island celebrated 4,100 of its newest alumni during its 2024 commencement during ceremonies May 17-19. Stella Mueller of Delhi received a bachelor of arts in journalism, and a bachelor of science in wildlife and conservation biology, magna cum laude.

Recently, 117 members of the Elmira College Unprecedented Class of 2024, 12 associate students, and 31 graduate students earned degrees and set forth to find their place in the world. Among them were Dylan Jacob of Walton, who earned a bachelor of science degree, and Laura Walker of Roxbury, who earned a bachelor of arts degree.

The following local students were named to the dean’s list at Rochester Institute of Technology for the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400. Dylan Mattice of South Kortright, who is in the criminal justice program; Alyssa Gioffe of Delhi who is in the diagnostic medical sonography program; Lorgan Allen of Harpersfield who is in the graphic design program, and Orchid Alberti of Stamford who is in the photographic and imaging arts program.

Angeles Sarabia of Margaretville was recognized by SUNY Oneonta with a silver-level leadership milestone through the university’s Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) program. Sarabia is studying fashion and textiles.

Rochester Institute of Technology conferred nearly 4,500 degrees at its campuses in the 2023-2024 academic year. The following local residents received degrees:

Sophia Elston of Walton received a BS in biomedical sciences; James Martin of Margaretville received a BS in accounting; Abigail Anzalone of Andes received an AOS in design and imaging technology, and Meredith Mable of Delhi received an MBA in business administration.

More than 1,100 SUNY Oneonta students earned dean’s list honors for the spring 2024 semester including: John Arnold of East Meredith, Charlotte Bayne of Walton, Brandon Bodo of Delancey, Deacon Gardner of Walton, Jessy Gardner of Delancey, Madison Greene of Walton, Logan Kaufman of Hobart, Kaylee Marschilok of Delhi, Zoe Mattice of Roxbury, Bryanna Meehan of Halcottsville, Christopher Prentice of Sidney, Gina Reinhardt of Delhi, Gabriel Smith of Franklin, Sophia Wakin of Delhi, John Ziemba of Sidney, Meredith Zrowka of Meridale.

Two hundred fifty-seven SUNY Oneonta students earned provost’s list honors for the spring 2024 semester. To qualify for the provost’s list, a student must earn a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more. Area students included on the list: Lizette Bishop of Delhi, Rachel Masterson of Andes, Darin Mullen of Harpersfield, Michelle Ritter of Walton, Alexis Rockefeller of Bloomville.

Lucas Van Dyke of Franklin was named to the spring 2024 president’s list at Hudson Valley Community College. Van Dyke is studying in the non-matriculated academic program.

Nearly 900 students were named to the spring 2024 dean’s list at Hudson Valley Community College. Locally is Bree Reed of Franklin, who is studying in the Non-matriculated academic program.

Liam M. Gronwall of Sidney was among more than 1,650 students were named to The University of Scranton’s dean’s list for the 2024 spring semester.

Brett Morrison of Roxbury was recently initiated at Clarkson University into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society.
