Charlotte D. Emerich, 78, of East Branch, died suddenly on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at home. She was born on March 24, 1943 in Shavertown, the daughter of Arley and Lillian Hadden. 

Charlotte married Craig K. Emerich Sr. on March 5, 1960 at the East Branch United Methodist Church. He predeceased her on April 15, 2015.

Charlotte worked over 30 years at Becton Dickinson in Hancock. Starting at the bottom, she worked her way up and retired as a supervisor. She loved to golf, go on cruises, and she especially loved her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Charlotte enjoyed spending winters in Florida with Craig and continued to do so after his passing. 

Surviving are her three children, Craig K. Jr. and wife Lisa Emerich, Kyle Emerich and wife Susan Viviano, and Erica and husband Richard Mills; grandchildren Jeremy and Samantha Brunner, John and Charity Graham, Marvin and Heather Mills-Bertholf, Sabrina Mills, Kyle II and Lindsey Emerich, Lucas and Nicole Emerich, and Jeffrey Emerich and fiancé, Ashley Buchanan, six great-granddaughters, Olivia, Hailey, Joyce, Riley, Emmalyn, and Claire, and six great-grandsons, Gavin, Seth, Landon, Wyatt, Noah, and Liam. Charlotte is also survived by two sisters, Mary and husband Donald Charles, and Marie Flora and significant other, Jerry Snow; a brother Allen and his wife Janet Hadden, and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her son, Daniel Emerich, two sisters, Carolyn Lacey and Doris Fairchild and two brothers, France Eschbach and Arley Hadden. 

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 17, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. A memorial service will follow at 1 for immediate family members only, due to covid-19 capacity restrictions. A luncheon will be held after the memorial service at the East Branch Fire Hall.

CDC and state guidelines will be followed, including the mandatory use of facial coverings and social distancing. If necessary, be prepared to wait outside before entering the funeral home due to capacity restrictions. Also, be prepared to pay your respects in a timely manner. Once you have paid your respects, we respectfully ask you to exit the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Charlotte’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
