Barbara Ann (Mayne) Klinger, 84, of Walton passed away Sept. 10, 2022, at home surrounded by family.

Barbara was born Aug. 21, 1938 in Walton, the daughter of the late Daisy and Ralph Mayne. On Oct. 12, 1957 she married Arthur B Klinger Sr. She lived most of her life in Walton where she raised her family. She participated with her children in Girl Scouts, 4-H and she was a Sunday school teacher at the United Methodist Church during the growing up ages of her children. For many years she drove school bus for the Walton School District. She also worked at Wallace Auto Parts and then D&D of Walton from 1976-2003. She stayed working full time at the family business, Klinger Power Sports, where she could be found everyday greeting the customers. She assisted with the Delaware County Fair Demo Derby from 1970-2010 with Joyce Butcher.

Barbara and Arthur enjoyed traveling to new places, including Puerto Rico, Sweden, Australia, Hawaii, and many U. S. destinations. She was an avid supporter of car racing every weekend with son Butch, grandson Blaine, grandsons Aaron and Kevin and great-grandkids Ava and Hayden.

Barbara is survived by her loving family, her daughters Kathy Shelton, Belinda Hodges, Joanna (Fran) Reed, and her son, Butch (Priscilla) Klinger all of Walton; her grandchildren Aaron Shelton (Megan), Nathan (Nikki) Shelton, Kevin (Kristen) Coons, Ashley Abel (Jason), Ryan Hodges, Cody (Rachael) Reed and Kristine Reed, Makayla, Maranda, and Blaine Klinger, great-grandchildren Ava and Hayden Coons, Kalli and Kinsley Shelton and Pipa, Willow and Wyatt Abel; and her sister Betty (William) Poulin.

She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Oct. 16, 2014; grandson Kyle Coons May 4, 2020 and great-granddaughter Kaya Coons March 31, 2014.

Friends and family are invited to call Thursday, Sept. 15 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton where services will be held Friday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Light officiating. Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery.
