Andrew F. Rosa, 81, or Arkville, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Margaretville Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness of cancer.
Andy was born on July 11, 1936, to the late Henry Rosa and Gertrude Fairbairn.
Andy is survived by his wife, Helen Plant. Andy is also survived by his children, Vincent Rosa and Theodora Billington of Arkville, Wendy Hejnal of Jefferson and Jeremy Young of Virginia. Andy is also survived by his grandchildren Shawn, Justin, Michael, Abigail, Dakota, Samantha and Eric. Andy enjoyed belonging to the Arkville Fire Department. Andy was an active member for 63 years. Andy also enjoyed an active role with the American Legion. Andy previously held the position of Commander of Post 216 as well as County Commander of the American Legion. Andy also enjoyed attending the state legion conferences which allowed him to travel all over the state.
Andy was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Carolyn Rosa.

A memorial ceremony in remembrance of Andrew R. Rosa will be April 28, beginning at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post #216 on Main Street in Margaretville.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.
