According to a press release from the town of Andes Supervisor Wayland ‘Bud’ Gladstone,  the Andes Town Hall has closed indefinitely. 

The offices will not have open office hours and access to the building will not be available to the public.

• Fishing Licenses - can be ordered or renewed through the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation call center or online. Customers ordering through the call center (1-866-933-2257, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) will be given a transaction number to write down and take with them and use as a license or registration when freshwater or saltwater fishing, respectively. If licenses are ordered online, customers can have a license sent by mail and/or, in the case of fishing licenses and trapping licenses, print it from home. 

• Marriage Licenses- not available at this time. 

• Transfer Station Stickers - print off the transfer station sticker application at www.townofandes.com  at the very bottom of the homepage. Drop off the completed application and the fee of $1/sticker. The sticker will then be mailed. 

• Water payments may be mailed or dropped in the town hall drop box. The deadline for payment without penalty for the April water district bill has been extended to June 30. 

• Hauling bids and re-bids are still due on April 9. Mail via USPS or drop at the town hall drop box. 

• If you need to apply for a handicap placard or need to have a handicap placard renewed, contact the office to make arrangements. 

• To leave a message for the assessor call 845-676-4707, 845-676-3737 or email andesassessor@gmail.com. Messages will be returned as soon as possible.  

• To obtain a building permit from the building department, leave the application in the town hall drop box. Contact the building inspector for further information.

Andes Transfer Station Update: All regulations regarding the use of the transfer station are still in effect. The additional attendant will be directing access to the unloading area. This may result in brief delays. Patience and understanding is requested. These measures are being taken to protect everyone’s well being. While at the transfer station, dispose of your trash and do not loiter. Maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet from all other patrons and town employees. 

Andes Highway Department employees will return to work April 6 with the 10 hour per day schedule. Andes Justice Court is closed until further notice. All cases are adjourned until such time that they are able to reopen. If you call, leave one message. The call will be returned as soon as possible, but it may take several weeks. 

Remember that residential brush burning is prohibited in New York state through May 14.

The April 2020 regular town board meeting has been cancelled.
