A weekend of chamber music Oct. 15-16

The West Kortright Centre, 49 West Kortright Church Road, East Meredith, and Friends of Music of Stamford, will present two consecutive world-class chamber music concerts for the sixth annual Weekend of Chamber Music in the Western Catskills Oct. 15 and 16. The two concerts, coinciding on one weekend, provide the perfect opportunity and incentive for chamber music aficionados to explore and enjoy Delaware County in all of its autumnal glory.

On Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m., the West Kortright Centre will welcome the Argus Quartet, featuring Clara Kim (violin), Giancarlo Latta (violin), Maren Rothfritz (viola), and Mariel Roberts (cello), with a wide-ranging program of works by Joseph Bologne, Germaine Tailleferre, Juri Seo, and Donald Crockett.

Doors for the Argus Quartet performance open at 6:30 for the 7 p.m. concert. Masks are encouraged for this indoor event. Advance tickets are recommended as seating is limited; advance ticketing closes at midnight Friday, Oct. 14 at westkc.org. Advance tickets are $24 ($20 for WKC members). Walk-ups are welcome, space permitting. Ticket costs at the door are $28 ($24 WKC members), $10 for ages 9-19; free for ages 8 and under. Call 607-278-5454 or contact info@westkc.org.

On Sunday, Oct. 16 at 3 p.m., Friends of Music of Stamford NY, Inc. will present Jordan Bak (viola) and Ji Yung Lee (piano), who will play a program of works by Britten, Hindemith, Vaughan Williams, R. Schumann, and Brahms.

Bak and Lee will play an indoor show, generously hosted by the Stamford United Methodist Church, 88 Main Street, Stamford. Masks are required.
