Virginia F. Ireland, 82, Bainbridge, died Sunday, March 3, 2024 at her home. She was born on Oct. 16, 1941, to the late Robert Frewert and Madeline Pierce. She was raised by her grandparents, Gustav and Freda Frewert. She was predeceased by her two husbands, James Ireland and Douglas Ireland.
She is survived by six children: Valerie McCain, Ronald Ireland, Nadine Fineout, Karen (Andrew) Kantor, Cheryl (Stratton) Liberty, and Dorene Ireland; seven grandchildren, great-grandchildren; brothers David Frewert and Edward Frewert, and also several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was the coordinator of Operation Merry Christmas for many, many years. She was former volunteer with many local organizations.
The family will receive friends at the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Unadilla, Friday, March 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. Private burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla.
