The Rotary Club of Sidney will have a meeting Friday, Sept. 22 at noon with program on the Susquehanna River Rotary Project presented by Evan Kurtz, PDG at the St. Lukes Lutheran Church, 139 West Main Street. Rotarians and guests are welcome to hear about this project.

Note, the September Share the Bounty Meal will be held Tuesday Sept. 26 at Sacred Heart Parish Hall, Liberty Street. Serving from 4:30 to 6:30 by the Knights of Columbus will be Baked ziti, meatballs, salad, bread and ice cream for dessert.

Rotary Club of Sidney is having a mum fundraiser - a variety of colors in nine-inch pot. Purchase certificates from any Rotarian member or stop at Main Street Paint and Hardware or Howard Hanna Real Estate to purchase certificates then shop through Oct. 2 at S and S Landscaping Depot, Co Hwy 23, Sidney, Monday through Friday 10 to 5:30 and Saturday 9 to 4.

Food Bank is open Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 at the Sidney United Methodist Church, 12 Liberty Street.

The Catholic Charities Emergency Food Pantry is open by appointment Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 8:30 to 6:30 p.m., 21 Liberty Street. Regular hours for Catholic Charities Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4:30. Closed for lunch 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Rick Bunting will have his artist display through the month of September in the Smart Community Room at Sidney Memorial Public Library.

The Computing Center is open Mondays from 1 to 3 p.m., Fridays 9 to 11 a.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. Bring your smartphone, laptop, tablet or e-reader for one-on-one technology help. Call 607-563-1200 to register for 30 minute session.

Children’s and youth programming are now back at the Sidney Memorial Library. A small business resource fair will be held Thursday, Sept. 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Sidney Community Cultural Center, 1 Bridge Street. Network and learn about community and government resources available for helping small business, start ups and entrepreneurs. Talk directly with representatives from small businesses. A presentation to grow your business with leveraging digital advertising to promote your business at 4:15, plus more. Free and open to all businesses and entrepreneurs.

Car seat safety event at The Cullman Child Development Center, 90 West Road, Thursday, Sept. 21 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The free event will educate parents and caregivers on proper car seat installation and use presented by the Delaware County Public Health.

The Tri-County Seniors invite area seniors to a performance of 1950s and 60s golden oldies sung by Mary Frances Perricone from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 at the Tri-County Senior Center, 43 Pearl Street, located in the right rear of the AO Fox Campus building. Take the driveway on the right side of building next to the fence and park behind the guardrail. Enter the building on the deck with the picnic table. Mary Frances brings energy to her performances of songs by Connie Francis, Patsy Cline and many others. Wear your dancing shoes and prepare to take a nostalgic trip back in time. The event is free to all seniors and snacks will be available.

A Down Home Fall Fest will be held Sunday, Oct. 1 at the Sidney Center Park from 2 to 6 p.m. Come celebrate the completion of the park and playground project. Fun Fall activities for the whole family including pumpkin painting, live music, great food, desserts and drinks, pie-eating contest and field day contests, photo booth and the brand new playground. Unadilla

The annual tampon fundraiser for local women in need is being held by House of Consignment, 214 Main Street. During September stop in with a box of tampons or pads or bring to the special event Sept. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. for food and drink, BRA Pong, vendors, raffles and prizes. The annual pancake breakfasts will be held Sundays at the Unadilla Rod and Gun Club, 566 Butternut Road, serving from 8 to 11 a.m. each Sunday through Sunday, Nov. 12. The club is also having a trap field improvement raffle and tickets may be purchased at the Sunday breakfast. The drawing will be held Dec. 19 at the club’s monthly meeting.

The Unadilla Public Library will have Clara Mae Barnhart continuing her creative writing workshop every third Wednesday for the next four months: Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20 beginning at 6 p.m.

Unatego Cue and Curtain announces the annual fall musical “Willy Wonka!” The show is a family friendly classic with lots of songs, dance and surprises. The show will be Nov. 3 and 4 at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoon Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. Please note due to the building project at the Unatego High School, the show will be performed at the Sidney High School auditorium.

Fall Fest 2023 at Covered Bridge Farm Market, 331 Covered Bridge Road, Sunday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Over 50 vendors featuring crafts, food trucks, homemade pies by Butternut Valley Grange, children’s activities, pumpkin painting, corn maze, and a giant corn box. Music by Barnyard Saints at 10 a.m. and Sundown at 1 p.m. 

Brooks chicken and ribs barbecue, Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Bishop lot (across from the Kwik Fill) Main Street. Starts at 10 a.m. until sold out. Sides of mac salad and baked beans will also be available by the Beta Sigma Phi Preceptor Beta Kappa Chapter.

The Green Giraffe, 179 Main Street, will have Halloween a grand opening Friday. Oct. 27 from  6 to 9 p.m. Come enjoy the celebration party - dress up in your favorite costume and have your picture taken in the former embalming  room.

The First Presbyterian Church of Unadilla celebrates its 200th anniversary Saturday, Oct. 28 beginning at 5 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The second annual free community picnic hosted by Mayor Cotten and Unadilla Village Trustees was held Sunday, Sept. 17 at the Denton Reed (RDC Field) with around 100 area residents attending. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, beverages and cotton candy were enjoyed. Sponsors were Shaul Logging, Turner Electric, Greens Long River Inn, B Walt’s Care. Country Squire Realty sponsored the bounce house for the children. 

The first day of fall is Sept. 23. Yom Kipper is Sept. 25. Sept. 29 - harvest/full moon.
