GOHS announces Fairchild Mansion walking tour April 20

Join the Greater Oneonta Historical Society (GOHS) Saturday, April 20, at 2 p.m. at the Fairchild Mansion (now the Masonic Lodge, 322 Main Street) as Bruce Van Buren leads a tour through the historic home of George Fairchild, a U.S. Congressman and the first IBM chairman of the board. Fairchild’s son Sherman, today considered the father of aerial photography, was the founder of Fairchild Camera and Fairchild Aviation, and funded the founding of Fairchild Semiconductor. This tour will meet at 2 p.m. at the doors of the Masonic Lodge. The tour is by donation and reservations are not required.
