Car seat safety event in Stamford Sept. 21

Posted

Delaware County Public Health will conduct a car seat safety event Sept. 21 at the Kiddie Corner Preschool, 114 Main Street, Stamford. Certified child passenger safety technicians will be available from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. to check car seats and give instruction to parents and caregivers on proper car seat installation and use.

Car seats work best when they are used correctly. In passenger cars, child safety seats reduce the risk of fatal injury by 71% for infants and by 54% for toddlers. Most parents and caregivers are confident that they have correctly installed their child’s car seat, but 59% of time the seat has not been installed correctly.

Bring your child and the vehicle owner’s manual and car seat manual if you have it. Expectant parents are welcome.
