Bovina Town Historian Ray LaFever will host a panel discussion about Bovina in the 1940s and 50s Saturday, May 11 at 7 p.m., at the Bovina Community Hall, Bovina Center, 1866 county Highway 6. The panelists will be longtime Bovina residents who will share stories of their childhoods in that era, supplemented and prompted by images taken at the time. LaFever will talk about the last one-room schools, the 1953 flood and the old Scott Bridge, among other topics.
The program will be a fundraiser for the Bovina Historical Society. The $5 suggested donation will aid work on the historical society’s Bovina Museum.
