‘Archive in an Envelope’ activity packets for students

Posted

The Delaware County Historical Association (DCHA) in Delhi offers free history activities for New York teachers and educators in the West of Hudson counties and New York City.

“Archive in an Envelope” activity packets will provide students with copies of historic documents from the museum’s archives pertaining to the creation of the reservoirs in Delaware County. Students can use the documents to answer questions about the Cannonsville and Pepacton reservoirs, including the reasons for their construction and the objections voiced by locals.

These activity packets are free to teachers, homeschoolers, and educators and are available through a grant funded by the Catskill Watershed Corporation. “Archive in an Envelope” is suited for children in grades 7 through 11. To order packets, call or email DCHA at 607-746-3849 or dchadelhi@gmail.com. Specify how many packets you would like and where to send them.

Hard copies of the “Archive in an Envelope” packets are limited as only 250 are available. Digital copies of the activity are also available upon request. Hard copy packets are available now and may be requested until the end of 2023, or while supplies last.
