Dominic Milazzo

Dominic Anthony Milazzo, 70, of Walton, passed peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones, after a brief illness.

Dominic was a devout Catholic who grew up in Dolgeville and was a proud graduate of the University of Buffalo. He met the love of his life, Marie Baggetta, at a wedding reception and married her on June 10, 1972. He was a loving son, husband, uncle, father of two children, and grandfather to two grandchildren. He enjoyed nothing more than a round of golf with friends or family followed by cocktail hour and many laughs around the dinner table. He traveled the country and the world with his wife of nearly 47 years and enjoyed 19 years of well-deserved retirement. He had a lifelong love of trains which he shared with his friends, children and grandchildren over the years as he meticulously tinkered with a handmade model railroad track and insisted that operators wear a conductor’s cap and red handkerchief. Nothing made him prouder than the successes of his son and daughter and he adored his grandson and granddaughter.

Dominic is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Milazzo of Walton; son Peter Milazzo of Hamilton; daughter Stephanie Milazzo-Clinger (Matthew) of Stafford Va.; grandchildren Brian and Madeleine Clinger, of Stafford Va., sister-in-law, Beverly Milazzo of Queensbury and his niece, Bethany Milazzo of Albany.

He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Milazzo.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Dominic’s life will be held on Saturday, June 1, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 25 Benton Avenue, Walton, with Rev. Edward J. Golding officiating. Please assemble at church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
