Napoleon Bonaparte: “Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide,”

The annual budget vote and election will be Tuesday, May 21 from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Your vote is important so get out there and make your vote count. Also that evening at 6:30 p.m. there will be a grade 5 and 6 band and chorus concert at the Sidney High School Auditorium. Try to come and support the children and the band and chorus leaders, they will appreciate your attendance. On Wednesday, May 22, there will be a state science performance test for Grades 4 and 8 and the FFA banquet will be at the Sidney Fire Hall at 6 p.m. The FFA Chapter works hard all year long to make this night a good one and there will be a lot of prizes for those attending that have been gathered by the members and their leader and more helpers from the FFA Alumni, so let’s show them our support.

Here ion the Farm, the fellas have been getting the equipment ready for the corn planting and grass chopping whenever the weather decides to clear up and some sun can dry the fields so they may plant. We all hope that is soon for all farmers. The cows had their feet trimmed last week and they seem to have liked that very much and there were not any cows who had to have their feet repaired and wrapped which is good. We will be testing the cow’s for milk production and other components like butterfat, protein and other solids. They have been doing very well and we hope to keep it that way. The milk price is getting a little better and making it so we can catch up on some things that have been neglected. Some new tires will be getting put on one of the tractors and have been much needed for a long time. The tractors have had to be sent away to be worked on and some have been done on the farm when possible, getting ready for action in the fields when the weather breaks. Keep buying dairy products and lots of milk to keep farmers in operation.

We have lost many Masonville people over the past months and express our sympathy to their friends and families.
