Upcoming Programs And Events At Ogden Library

Ogden Library, Gardiner Place, Walton, hosts a variety of ongoing programming.

Those who like to play mahjong or are interested in learning have two opportunities each week to do so; Tuesdays at noon or Thursday evenings at 6.

A book and film chat is held on the third Tuesday of every month at 3 p.m. at the Library. Come to the table to share recommendations with others from the titles you have recently read or viewed and perhaps discover your next read.

Knitting and crocheting hobbyists are invited Tuesday afternoons at 4. Bring projects to work on, receive tips and advice from other yarn enthusiasts, and enjoy friendly conversation.

Preschool Storytime is offered every Friday at 10:30 a.m. The children’s librarian will engage the children with songs, action rhymes, and finger plays. Children will also enjoy read-a-loud stories and participating in a simple craft.

A ukulele group will get together for some fun, relaxed practice and play at the library Wednesday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. All ages and skill levels are welcome. If you don’t have a ukulele, some will be available to borrow.

LEGO club will meet Thursday,

May 23 from 3:30-4:30. Kids in grades K-5 are invited to the library to participate in a robot-themed building challenge and in free play. Legos are provided; children are encouraged to display their creations in the library’s display case. There are some highly creative kids in Walton!

Frederic Chrislip will present solo selections of 16th and 17th century music performed on the lute Saturday, May 25, at 11:30 a.m.

A free workshop entitled Medicare 101 will be held Saturday, June 1, at 11 a.m. Bring your Medicare questions and have them answered.

Several upcoming events at Ogden Library on Gardiner Place in Walton require or recommend that participants preregister.

The read & go bus trip is scheduled for Tuesday, June 11. Bus seats are still available; $73 includes bus fare and the ferry/ statue of liberty tickets.

The “Cook with Books, Eat with Friends” event will be Thursday, May 23, at 6 p.m. Visit the circulation desk to choose a recipe to prepare from this month’s cookbook. Bring the prepared food and enjoy a meal and conversation. Place settings and drinks provided.

An essential oils workshop followed by a do-it-yourself project will be held Wednesday, May 29, at 6 p.m. Free to attend, but those who would like to participate need to sign up.
