Every American military veteran trained in varying capacities and served as one of our nations’ war-fighters. The Sidney Veterans Memorial Park was designed to not only recognize and honor their service but to also shine a light on ‘how’ these men and women served. First visits to the park are often described as beautiful, interesting, and educational from local, national and historical perspectives - especially if visitors have no or limited knowledge of military and naval heritage. From the Flag House entrance housing the Sidney Central School Alumni Associations’ Memorial Wall and Monument, to the service-specific risers flanking the walkway to the majestic eagle-adorned monument, flag court and victory walls displaying individual veteran granite plaques – in the words, pictures, and regalia of our nations’ war-fighters you’ll find a visit inspirational.

At the intersection of NYS Route 8 and River Street in Sidney, visitors may disembark at the parks’ Flag House Entrance; however, parking will be at and compliments of the Sidney Elks Lodge just a few steps up the street from the park. The Elks Lodge will be open for public use of restrooms, and light refreshment will be available in the bar area at the conclusion of the ceremony. Covered seating is provided for approximately 100 persons so attendees are encouraged to bring personal lawn seating.
