Stamford & Its Hotels: Presentation & Chat

Contributed Photo Contributed Photo The Delaware County Historical Association will present an illustrated talk by local author, historian, and archivist of the Stamford Village Library history room, Karen Cuccinello Saturday, March 16 at 2 p.m. Cuccinello’s talk will concern Stamford and the era of its hotels. During the late 19th century and early 20th century Stamford was known as the “Queen of the Catskills,” a nationally-renowned tourist mecca. Located on the Ulster & Delaware Railroad, Stamford’s population swelled during the summer months as urban visitors flocked to its hotels and other recreation amenities.
