SK Girls Holds Off Stamford in DL Hoop Match-up

STAMFORD -  The South Kortright girls held off Stamford for a key 49-43 win in Delaware League hoop action.  

The Rams came out of the gate strong while the Indian squad seemed tentative.  SK led 14-5 after one quarter, but Stamford collected their composure and narrowed the lead to 24-19 heading into halftime.

Going into the fourth quarter, the score was tied at 32 and the game could have went either way for the teams.

Carli Pardee paced SK with 14 points in the win, Azalyn Brunson netted 11 and hustler Anna Reinshagen dropped 10. 

At 6’2, Melanie Hoyt scored 13 points in the loss while Madison Hoyt netted 10, respectively.

Boys

B-G 65, Harpursville 52

The Bainbridge-Guilford boys basketball team defeated Harpursville 65-52 in a nail-biter.

At the end of the first quarter, the squads were tied at 11-11.  At the break, B-G led 27-24 and held a 41-39 advantage going into the fourth quarter. 

For the Bobcats, Tom Palmatier dropped 25 points in the win.

Harpursville received 12 points from Brandon Goodnow and Dylan Hagerman in the loss.

UV 55, Walton 26

Unadilla Valley boys top Walton 55-26 in Mid-State Atlantic action.  

For UV, Andrew Jackson and Levi Rifenburg each net 18 points in the win.  Rifenburg also rips down 11 boards, respectively.  

For Walton, Dylan Jacob tallies 10 points in the loss and teammate Jose Mirabel pours in eight points.  

UV boys led Walton 29-11 at the half, before ultimately pulling away.

Sharon Springs  43, Franklin 41

The Sharon Springs boys defeat Franklin 43-41 in the Tri-Valley League. 

Girls:

Gilboa 49, Downsville 43

Gilboa-Conesville Central School girls dropped Downsville in a 49-43 upset in the Delaware League.

Franklin 75, Sharon Springs 19

Franklin defeated Sharon Springs 75-19 on Friday.

Purple Devil Kayla Campbell has a double-double with 44 points and 10 boards as well as eight steals in the win. 

DA 63, Afton 27

Delaware Academy toppled Afton 63-27 on the road Friday.  

Sophia Wakin nets 17 points and contributes nine boards.  Riley Mason nets eight points in the win.  

H-T 44, CV 37

The Hunter-Tannersville girls defeat Charlotte Valley 44-37 in the Delaware League.  

Walton 43, UV 36

Walton narrowly took down Unadilla Valley 43-36 in MAC hoop action. 

Warrior McKenzie Clough scored 12 points and had 19 board in the win.  Teammate Olivia Harby netted 17 points and ripped down 13 rebounds, respectively.  Carissa Crandall netted six points for Walton.
