Sullivan County Fraud Task Force Arrests

The Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Task Force announced a variety of arrests on Jan. 3. As a result of investigations, 11 arrests were made from September - December 2018. Among those arrested were:

Sally A. Sterr, 56, of Livingston Manor. Sterr was arrested on Sept. 13 and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after law enforcement arrested her on fugitive from justice warrant from New Jersey. Police say Sterr illegally possessed four pills. She was sent to the Sullivan County Jail, without bail, awaiting extradition proceedings.

Joanne Mack, 40, of Deposit was arrested on Oct. 26 and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and misuse of food stamps. Mack is accused of stealing an EBT card and using it to make purchases at Walmart in Monticello. She was arraigned in Liberty Town Court and sent to the Delaware County Jail on $10,000 bail.
