Monthly Sidney Memorial Public Library Events

Tuesdays – 10-10:45 a.m. - Preschool Story Time: This is for the 3- to 5-year-olds accompanied by an adult. Participants sing songs, read books and make a craft that relates to the theme of the week.

Tuesdays - 3-5 p.m. - Kids Club: For kids ages 5 and older who are interested in joining for games, crafts, Minecraft, and more. New members are always welcome. This club meets in the Public Computing Center.

First and third Tuesdays – 11- 11:45 a.m. - Music for Munchkins: This program is for children up to age 5. Participants enjoy musical instruments, songs, movement activities, and parachute play. second and fourth Tuesdays – 11-11:45 a.m. – Preschool Tablet Time: This program is for children ages 2 to 5. Attendees have fun playing on iPads and educational websites.

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays – 10-11:30 a.m. - Play and Learn: For ages 6 and younger. Drop in any time for hands-on activities, including developmentally appropriate games, sensory materials, dramatic play items, and more; 3-5 p.m. - Lego Time: For all ages preschool through school. Have fun building with the library’s LEGO collection.

Second Wednesdays – 6 p.m. – Movies for Adults: Enjoy a new movie each month on the library’s big screen.

Thursdays – 10-10:30 a.m. – Toddler Story Time: This story time is for toddlers 15 months old to about age 3. Participants will enjoy books, songs, and a hands-on activity; 11-11:20 a.m. – Baby Story Time: For babies 15 months and younger accompanied by their caregiver. Enjoy nursery rhymes, simple stories, songs, and more; 3:30-4:30 p.m. – Afterschool Explorers: This weekly program is for kids ages 7-12 to have fun and learn by exploring a variety of STEAM related topics, including experiments, educational games, creative writing, arts and crafts, movement activities, and more.

First Thursdays - 9:30-11:30 a.m. – Genealogy Hounds: Research family history using the library’s link to ancestry.com. No registration is needed, just show up with a laptop or use one of the library’s.

Third Saturdays – 1-2:30 p.m. – Book Club for Adults: This book club meets once a month for discussion. The book for each month is chosen by members.
