Rosie Cunningham/The Reporter SKCS - South Kortright Central School (SKCS) hosted the second annual Octoberfest 5K Color Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 6 and it was very much a celebration of fall.

The event was organized by the SKCS class of 2019 to create awareness of healthy living.

According to SKCS teacher Katie Littlefield, about 60 individuals registered for the event.

“It was a lot of fun - the kids seemed to have enjoyed it,” she said. “We had to change our initial route because it was just too wet. But as participants ran around the field, students threw dry, colored powder at them and it was a blast for them.”

Littlefield said colleague Dawn Brown is responsible for the majority of the planning for the day.
