John Norman Dent

April 9, 1946 - July 4, 2018

John passed away in Orlando, Fla., where he was receiving medical attention. He was the son of Thomas Benham Dent and Marian Barnes Dent of Delhi.

John lived in Ocoee, Fla., for twenty years where he was arbitration manager for the Florida Auto Auction. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War from 1966-1971. He was awarded two Purple Hearts for injuries sustained while on active duty in Vietnam.

He returned to Arbor Hill, Delhi in 2010, where he had grown up. He raised Arabian horses, and enjoyed hunting and fishing the Delaware River. He also volunteered for 4-H Camp activities, having been a 4-H member from the age of six. He showed horses at the Delaware County Fair, Walton, and the New York State Fair, Syracuse.

He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn, and his father, Thomas Dent. He is survived by his mother and sons, David and John.

He is buried in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.

A Life Well Lived.

There will be a celebration of his life at a later date at Arbor Hill in Delhi.
