SK Girls Take All in Grasso Hoop Tourney Title

Rosie Cunningham/The Reporter The South Kortright girls squad following their win of the Pat Grasso Tournament. Rosie Cunningham/The Reporter LAURENS - The South Kortright girls squad defeated Laurens 67- 22 to clinch the annual Pat Grasso Tournament Saturday.

Azalyn Brunson had a double-double with 18 points and was named MVP of the tournament for South Kortright. Teammate Anna Reinshagen was named to the all-tournament team.

“It felt so good to have won and to take home the trophy like the girls before us have done,” said Brunson. “We played well overall, but we still have a lot of work to do.”

In the opening round of the Grasso Tournament on Friday, SK defeated Gilbertsville-Mount Upton 71-20 to advance. SK’s Jordan Finch had a game-high 14 points for the Rams and teammates, Brunson and Bella DuBois each contributed 12 points, respectively.

Following the first quarter, the Rams led the way over G-MU 13-2 and went into the halftime break with a 23-2 edge.

The SK junior varsity team also took home the win for the Rams.
