Delaware County Sheriff-Elect Names Second-in-Command

Timothy Buckley has been named Delaware County's next Undersheriff.A Hancock native was named Delaware County’s Undersheriff on Dec. 5. Starting his career with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office in 1998, Timothy Buckley raised through the ranks first as a deputy and eventually reaching the rank of lieutenant. Throughout his 17 years with the Sheriff’s Office, Buckley also held positions as a criminal investigator and was responsible for the daily operations of the law enforcement and civil divisions.

Buckley was also the assistant director of the Delaware County Law Enforcement Academy, accreditation manager and the property and evidence custodian.

Buckley has acted as the fiscal manager of the department for the past two years and Sheriff-Elect Craig DuMond credits him with assistance in creating efficiencies in and streamlining fiscal operations.

“This, coupled with his dedication and devotion to the office of Sheriff, makes Tim Buckley an outstanding choice to become Delaware County’s next Undersheriff. I am confident his appointment will bring great credit upon the members of the office as well as the people of Delaware County,” DuMond said.

Buckley will officially assume the appointment on Jan. 1,  2018.
