Photo Contributed by Walton Central School District Twenty-nine sophomores from the Walton Central School visited SUNY Broome Community College in Binghamton Thursday, Nov. 30, to learn about the opportunity to participate in Walton’s Bridges to Broome program.

The Bridges to Broome program allows students to take college-level courses at SUNY Broome during their junior and senior years.

The students were accompanied by Superintendent Roger Clough, Principal Rob Knuschke, school counselor Karen Gilbertson, and teacher Clarence LaParr.

The visit included an informational session led by SUNY Broome admission counselors, a campus tour, and lunch in the campus dining hall.

“This is a great experience for our students,” Clough said. “They had the opportunity to tour the campus and be able to see daily life at a college. We look forward to continuing our relationship with SUNY Broome.”

This is the second consecutive year Walton students have made this trip. The district will be hosting a parent/student informational setting about the SUNY Broome program in January. More information will follow when available.
