Walton Town Clerk’s Report

Budget: The Walton Town Board will hold a public hearing on Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. for persons wishing to speak in favor of or against the proposed 2018 preliminary budget. The $1,930,459 budget is down $51,513 from 2017.

Highway Department: With winter before us, the town of Walton Highway Department reminds motorists not to park vehicles in the right-of-way that may cause an obstruction or hinder the process of snow removal. Also, do not plow snow across a town roadway.

Dog Control: Currently, there are several delinquent dog licenses. If you own a dog in the town or village of Walton, it must have a valid dog license and rabies vaccination. Dog owners in violation of this local law may be subject to a court appearance ticket and fined per dog. If you know of someone harboring a dog without a license, contact the town of Walton Dog Control Officer.

Town Clerk: The town of Walton’s Clerk’s Office will be closed Nov. 10 as well as November 23 and 24.

Notice of Meetings:

The Walton Town Board will hold its next scheduled meeting on Nov. 13 at 6 p.m.

The Walton Planning Board meets the third Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. - when there are items on the agenda.

The Walton Zoning Board meets the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m.

The Walton Town Court is held every Wednesday at 5 p.m.
