William B. Ogden Library will host a free dance workshop and community forum facilitated by local musician and folklorist

Kathy Shimberg. Ms. Shimberg describes the event as “a participatory community conversation about our region’s square dance tradition and its music, including examples from Grant

Rogers’ own repertoire.” The public is invited to contribute memories of local square dances and round dances at this informal workshop, or to simply come and listen and enjoy.

This workshop, and the ongoing Grant Rogers Project, a collaborative venture between the library and Music on the

Delaware, are made possible, in part, with sponsorship from the Broome Library Fund and the Hanford Trust. The event will begin at 11, and run until 12:30.
