O’Connor Hospital will host its annual community influenza clinic on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 8 p.m. – 12 p.m. No appointment is necessary to receive the immunization; however those looking to participate should register at the hospital’s main registration desk in the front lobby that day during the hours of 8 p.m.–12 p.m.

At the same time and date the hospital pharmacy will host an open house including light refreshments. A pharmacist will be on site, offering patient medication consultations.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that the flu vaccination be administered to everyone six months of age or older.

In addition to receiving the vaccine, you can also help to fight influenza by frequently washing your hands, covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough, or cough into your sleeve if you don’t have a tissue, and staying home from work or school if you have symptoms.
