WKC Will Present Traditional Iraqi Music

Contributed Photo The Rahim AlHaj Trio Contributed Photo On Saturday, Sept. 16, beginning at 7 p.m., the West Kortright Centre will present the Rahim AlHaj Trio, featuring twice Grammy-nominated National Endowment for The Arts 2015 National Heritage Fellow and Smithsonian Folkways Recordings artist, Iraqi oud (Arabic lute) virtuoso and composer Rahim AlHaj, joined by Iranian santour maestro Sourena Sefati and Palestinian-American Arabic percussion master Issa Malluf.

Tickets purchased in advance are $24, $27 day of; $21 member, $24 day of; $11 under 19. The ticket booth opens at 6 p.m.; doors open at 6:30. This is an indoor concert but concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy in the West Kortright Centre valley before the show.
