Tourism Board Has Scheduled Public Meetings Throughout County

In a press release dated Feb. 7, Delaware County Director of Economic Development Glenn Nealis announced that the Tourism Advisory Board of Delaware County will hold a series of public information meetings throughout the county for the purpose of receiving public input and comments in regard to the use of funds raised through the Delaware County Hotel Occupancy Tax.

The Tourism Advisory Board is charged with providing recommendations to the Delaware County Board of Supervisors regarding the disbursement of occupancy tax funds for the promotion and development of the tourism industry. The Tourism Advisory Board has drafted a proposal for how occupancy tax funds will be made available to support tourism promotion activities in 2017, and will hold a series of public meetings to present the proposal and solicit public input.

The meetings will all begin at 5:30 p.m.:

Feb. 20 – Delaware County Public Safety Building, Delhi;

Feb. 23 – Hancock Town Hall, Hancock;

March 2 – Stamford Town Hall, Hobart;

March 6 – Middletown Town Hall, Margaretville.
